The “Old” Genoa of Luzzati in the Shop
Between 1945 and 1950, renowned Genoese artist Emanuele Luzzati created a series of drawings dedicated to “old” Genoa. Through these works, he captured the city’s charm, its historic atmosphere, and cultural heritage, offering a vivid glimpse into its soul. Among the subjects portrayed is the Lucarda sign, a symbol of tradition deeply rooted in the imagination of the Genoese people.
To celebrate and share this important artistic legacy, a collaboration has been established between Lucarda, Casa Luzzati, and the Lele Luzzati Foundation. This project brings together art and culture, while highlighting the essential role of Historic Shops (Botteghe Storiche) in preserving and transmitting the memory of the city.
Seven reproductions from this captivating series will be permanently exhibited inside the shop. It is a unique opportunity for visitors to immerse themselves in Luzzati’s artistic legacy and rediscover Genoa through his eyes—within the walls of a historic building that, still today, tells the story of the city.
